Overview

Following a major redesign of an internal reporting tool, the product team needed to validate the new interface before a company-wide rollout. I designed and facilitated a moderated usability study with 12 participants drawn from three departments, using a combination of think-aloud protocol and task-based scenarios.

Sessions were conducted remotely over two weeks. Analysis identified 7 critical issues, 11 moderate issues, and 4 minor issues. Critical issues were clustered around the new filter system and the export workflow — both areas where the redesign had deviated most significantly from the legacy tool. A severity-prioritized findings report was delivered within 48 hours of the final session, enabling the team to address critical issues before launch.
