Analytics Dashboard for Healthcare

Overview

Clinical staff were working across three separate legacy tools to piece together patient cohort data. The goal was a unified dashboard that surfaced the right information at the right time without adding cognitive load to an already demanding workflow.

I embedded with the team for two weeks of contextual inquiry, observing how nurses and physicians actually used existing tools during shift handoffs. This revealed that the most critical data was buried three clicks deep. I designed a progressive disclosure system — a high-level summary view with drill-down capability — and validated it through six rounds of usability testing with clinical staff in a simulated environment.
